Pt. 2 of LACMA

Here is a continuation to the last post, I forgot to mention that unfortunately we were unable to go through the entire museum so we missed out on art from Latin America, Asia and some from Europe. We did get to see many sculptures and installations though. The last picture of the giant vase/bowl(I really don't know what you would call that) was entirely made of silver! It was massive and I am guessing the upkeep of it must be difficult. The sculpturing of that piece was extremely detailed, every single outline was perfect. They also, had some paintings and installations by Andy Warhol but unfortunately it was the only building in the museum where they didn't allow pictures to be taken:(
The first couple of pictures are from outside the main entrance of the museum where they have an installation called "Urban Light" which includes about 200 vintage street lamps. It is very beautiful during the day so I can only imagine that it is even more beautiful at night when they are all lit up.
Though I don't know a lot about art, I do appreciate it very much and I definitely want to learn more, so if you have any favorite artist share them with me! And if you've never been to LACMA and like art, you should definitely go there!

Royalty and their dresses....

LACMA currently has an exhibition called "Fashioning Fashion: European Dress in Detail, 1700-1915. I've been wanting to see it and I finally had the chance, one of favorite gal pal's Alex went with me and it was like one of those cute dates you have with your girlfriends that you wish you had more often. We started our day with some coffee and breakfast sandwiches at Starbucks and then headed to the museum. The exhibition was everything I hoped for! I saw some of the most beautiful dresses and head/hair pieces. My favorite of them all was the cape in the last 2 pictures, I wish I had it now so that I could pack it with me to take on my NYC trip, which by the way is this coming week! I have many many pictures from the museum, the one's in this post are only from the fashion exhibit. I will have a second post from other artwork that I liked, so stay tuned!

Je t'aime ♥

Via Fashion Gone Rogue

Someday I will have photos of me posing in front of the Eiffel Tower just like this! And also wearing red leather gloves for it is definitely the cherry that tops a sundae. Notice the long hair, it is the inspiration I've been looking for, now I remember why I am growing it. Love, love and love!

Beyond glamorous, I love it! Abbey Lee Kershaw is indeed a disco diva in November's issue of Vogue Australia. And again with the short hair, I am in love! I really need to buy a wig!

Because I love, Love

I am completely obsessed with this song. First because I think the Spanish language is beautiful. Second, the lyrics are romantic and the sound is electrifying. I've always thought of Spanish music as being very romantic and full of passion. Latino artist put their hearts and souls into their music and that makes me love it. They take anything and make it beautiful. And with two heartthrobs like Enrique Iglesias and Juan Luis Guerra it is no wonder that this song melts my heart like a Popsicle on the 4Th of July. By the way their outfits are adorable, Juan Luis Guerra is charming in his military inspired jacket and newsboy hat, he is the epitome of great style at any age. And Enrique well, he is Mr. Tall, Dark and Handsome, he could wear a t-shirt and jeans and look perfect. My crush for Enrique is never ending, I like to think he's singing to me :)

Two of my favorite fashion icons attended the Chanel show, Keira Knightly and a very cute pregnant Lily Allen. Keira also showed off her new Bob...(sigh)... I've been growing my hair out for over a year, and every time I come across a bob, it make me miss mine, but I can't, I won't cut it! I think about all that time I spent with my boring medium-length hair just so that I could grow it out and then give up half way! I simply can't give up... Maybe I will buy a wig?! Just kidding, I've always thought about it though.
Enough about me, back to Keira. Her outfit was just perfect for the occasion, Chanel dress, tweed blazer and purse paired with the very popular spring 2010 Miu Miu platforms. She looked stunning! Lily Allen was also decked out in Chanel and check out her shoes, I hope I am as chic as she is when I'm pregnant.
Oh how nice it must be to sit front row at Chanel, but more importantly be chosen by Karl Lagerfeld to be his muse. These two are some very lucky ladies!

Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel, need I say more?

Via Style.com

Of all days for Fashion Week, today I really really wish I was in Paris. Chanel showed their Spring 2011 collection, and it couldn't have been any more perfect, from the clothes to the attendees.
Karl Lagerfeld is a genius, not that we didn't already know it, this show was just a reminder. The collection was everything I hoped for, classic Chanel suits shrunken for summer, smokey eyes, black and gray, and wedged heels. Baptiste Giabiconi closed the show which is no surprise, he is Karl Lagerfeld's muse. He also included, model Brad Kroenig who walked with his 2-year-old son, it definitely was one of the highlights. The baby wore the exact same outfit daddy did, it was much too adorable!
Stay tuned for part II of more Chanel highlights!
